Air Sealing
When air leakage occurs, outside air enters and conditioned air leaves the structure through cracks and openings. Thus, it’s vital to prevent this from occurring by sealing the building envelope. Our application includes a two-component spray polyurethane foam that fills cavities, penetrations and gaps, forming a continuous barrier against air filtration and keeping out moisture, dust, pollutants and smoke. Based on your project specifications, we’ll apply the foam sealant in key areas, including:
- Wall/attic penetrations
- Electrical, mechanical and plumbing penetrations
- Attic batches
- Wall cavities and around pipes
- Roof/wall junctures
Air sealing is critical for ensuring the structural durability of a new home or building. An exceptional air sealant system helps to reduce energy consumption, limit drafts, improve air quality, decrease the load on the HVAC system and dampen outside noise. Additionally, it provides exceptional resistance to moisture.
